The founders of Delta Design have been significant players in web hosting and domain name registration in West Lothian for over seven years.
Back in 2003 we realised that even though the internet was becoming increasingly popular, web hosting services were predominantly technical in nature. This meant that customers needed a good level of technical expertise to manage their accounts, often including UNIX skills. We set out to find a suitable hosting provider and teamed up with WebFusion.
WebFusion had grown at a fast pace, with a never-ending array of new products and features, including the "Virtual Control Panel", which was the first automated control panel to be offered by any UK web hosting company, allowing our user to manage their account online via the Web. In 2007 Delta Design launched their first dedicated server for SME hosting and email services. Domain names were provided by 123-reg, also owned by Webfusion. This was a low-cost, flexible domain name registration system which helped drive down the market price from £50 to £2 a year!.
In March 2009 Delta Design felt that the Webfusion control panel had not progressed sufficiently to provide what our clients needed. This was when we started planning our migration to our current provider, Heart Internet. Now all our customers have moved to this platform and all new customers are able to purchase our services directly from this website. We strongly believe our current provider offers a much richer control panel experience.
In September 2009 Delta Design decided to move customer email services to Google Apps Standard or Premier edition to offer a richer email service with business class syncronisation, spam filtering and web space. We felt this platfrom was and still is superior to Heart's own webmail service. In the endeavour to always seek out the best value online services for our customers, we remain totally independent of our service providers.
